CSV Importer Released as Beta

CSV Importer Released as Beta

The CSV importer provides Parago users the ability to import existing asset registers stored in spreadsheets into the Parago system. As many schools record their assets through the use of spreadsheets a method to easily transfer data to the Parago system was designed and built.

The CSV importer that has been in the pipeline for a number of months now is complete and in its beta testing phase. Existing customers who wish to participate in the beta testing phase should contact elaine.mckay@parago.co.uk for details.

The CSV importer will be released to the live site at the end of the beta phase, this will be towards the end of December 2007.

This new feature of the Parago system allows the user to quickly and easily import their current asset information without the need for laborious data entry.

Steps to importing existing data to Parago:

  1. Export the current Excel Spreadsheet to a CSV file
  2. Upload the exported CSV file to the Parago system
  3. Select the asset type for each section
  4. Select the column types for each section (The importer can do this automatically)
  5. Pick the column that contains location information
  6. Confirm the selections and import the asset information

The assets with location information that ties in with the Parago account you are using will automatically be placed in their specified locations. Any assets with missing location information can easily be discovered in the "missing assets container"
