Parago Software… The Story So Far

In Spring 2004 Parago Software spent six months with local authorities and schools across England discussing ways to simplify the complex issues of asset management. Following this the company commenced the development of Parago, an asset management system that would automate the process for managing computers, software and general inventory. Extensive testing allowed Parago to be launched in January 2006.

The directors and shareholders have invested over £1,000,000 to date to ensure that Parago continues to meet the requirements of schools. Nearly three years on, the company now works with schools across 17 authorities and has more schools using Parago than any other asset management system.

Parago Software works with the leading suppliers to education such as XMA, Civica, Pugh and Stone and now has schools in France and the Cayman Islands.

Our Goal

Working alongside FAST and Microsoft, our goal is to raise awareness about the cost savings achieved from effective asset management in schools and the necessity of keeping schools compliant. We aim to provide a solution that exceeds the expectations of all LAs and schools, and most importantly provide a cost effective complete asset management solution.

Software vendors such as Microsoft have long wished for schools to have an affordable automated system to manage their software assets as Steve Beswick, Microsoft UK education director, comments: “Managing and tracking software assets within an educational institution is becoming time consuming and expensive, especially as the complexity of IT systems increase. Until now the sector has lacked a fully web based software asset management system, designed in conjunction with educational users, that monitors computers via the internet. Schools can save considerable time and money by having an automated license management system and Parago appears to offer a very easy to use solution that can simplify asset management, saving time and money in the process.”
