Parago Newsletter - January 2009

Happy New Year from the Parago Software team!

Welcome to the January 2009 newsletter.

It's been a busy winter for Parago Software. New local authority partnerships have been rolling in and we have also teamed with a leading body for secondary education. Plans are steaming ahead in preparation for BETT and also the 2009 asset management conference tour.

BETT 2009

BETT, the world's largest educational technology event, is just around the corner. Visit Olympia, London between 14 – 17 January to meet the Parago team (stand F90) and discuss your asset management needs and our future developments.

The Parago team has an impressive presence this year at BETT. In addition to our stand we are hosting a SAM Seminar at 2pm on Wednesday 14th in the Training Zone. This is a prelude to the regional seminars discussed in the article below. The 45 minute agenda includes:

  • Introduction from Bob Harrison DCSF Consultant
  • Microsoft experts will introduce the benefits and cost savings of an automated system.
  • Top Education ICT lawyers, Bird and Bird to offer a taster of ‘top tips for copyright management.’
  • John Galloway, an independent writer and consultant, will explain how an automated system has revolutionised a primary and secondary schools' assset management.

See you there…

Regional Software Asset Management conferences

The 2009 asset management tour is soon to commence. Sponsored by Parago Software, the five conferences throughout the UK will have a line up of guest speakers including Tony Parkin, SSAT; Bob Harrison, DCSF consultant; Roger Bickerstaff and Barry Jennings, Bird and Bird lawyers; John Galloway, independent writer and consultant plus experts from Microsoft and Adobe.

The tour commences 5 February, 10.00, at the Microsoft Auditorium, Victoria, London. Additional conferences will be held in Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh. For further information visit www.parago.co.uk/2009conferences.

Parago reaches top of the tower

The London Borough of Tower Hamlets has partnered with Parago Software. Schools will benefit from both Parago and ParagoMobile to securely log all their ICT and non-ICT assets. Tower Hamlets pride themselves on the support they offer to schools and Parago will provide benefits to both parties.

Parago looks out for St Paul's

Having partnered with Parago Software, St Paul's Academy, London now boasts an extremely organised asset inventory. Claire Viner, finance director of St Paul's explains: &lquo; It was an efficient implementation and we soon began to exploit Parago's full potential. We have the whole school layout mirrored on the system. Training was an in depth procedure, but one that was highly valuable. The end product completely outweighs the initial training that has to be performed.”

“Without Parago I would require another ICT technician to look after tasks such as asset reporting and general inventory audits. The solution really does provide the Academy with substantial cost savings; the cost of a member of staff to be exact,” says Claire.

Parago partners with SSAT

In November 2008, Parago Software teamed with Specialist Schools and Acadmies Trust (SSAT). Together with SSAT, Parago Software's goal is to raise awareness about the necessity of keeping schools compliant and the cost savings achieved from effective asset management. Available through Microsoft Gold Partners and Becta approved suppliers, Parago Software aims to provide a solution that exceeds the expectations of all LAs and schools.

Special offer

SSAT schools can save up to £100 with Parago Software's exclusive offer if a purchase is made through a Parago Authorised partner; Pugh Computers and The Stone Group. Visit www.parago.co.uk/ssat.
